Oh, Give Me A Home Where the Chickens Will Roam.....

So finally I THINK we are going to buy a house.  We are sick and tired of waiting for the house in Prior Lake so we've moved on.  Lonsdale is going to be our next address.  We found a really charming farmhouse on top of a hill.  The entire house has been gutted to the rafters and remodeled.  New wiring, plumbing, flooring, fixtures, drywall....everything.  I never imagined we'd move so far out but we can't pass this one up.  The kids will still go to school in Prior Lake but there is a boy in J's class who also lives in Lonsdale so I'm hoping to carpool.  G will have an even longer drive to work but he was supposed to get something closer to home years ago so this may be his motivation to finally start looking!

The property has several outbuilding and a gigantic barn.  One of the buildings has its own furnace and propane tank.  I'm thinking that is the one that will be perfect for my little country shop.

We've had to be a little creative with financing.  This house is "non-conforming"  because it is considered a working farm.  We had to change from a conventional style loan to an agricultural loan.  The interest rates are higher but no PMI and taxes will be considerably lower with an agricultural status.  Now all we have to do is nail down a few final details with the seller and we're in!  I should be getting my chicks in the mail by the end of March!
